How to make hibiscus juice ?

Hibiscus juice is not only the preferred drink at parties in Africa but it is also very good for your health.

Hibiscus juice is a drink made from dried hibiscus flowers and is widely consumed in Senegal and Guinea. It is also known under different names in the Caribbean where it is called "Country Gooseberry" in the French West Indies and "Agua de Jamaica" in Jamaica and in the Latin countries.


INGREDIENTS

  • 5 l of water
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons of orange blossom
  • 2 cups of hibiscus flower

  • PREPARATION

    The preparation of the hibiscus juice will take no more than 30 minutes.

    • STEP 1

    Rinse the bissap.

    • STEP 2

    Boil the bissap and water until the water is completely colored.

    • STEP 3

    Let cool and then remove the bissap from the cooking juice. Add the sugars, nutmeg and orange blossom water to the juice and mix.

    • STEP 4

    Put in the fridge for 5 hours and serve very cold.
